Liminal Story submission due

Friday, November 8th, 2019

Mercury Cafe (Upstairs)

7-9:30

"Liminal space is the time between the 'what was' and the 'next'. Liminal space is where all transformations take place, if we learn to wait and let it form us."

The Liminal series is an experiment in creating a rupture in a commonly held belief through the art of storytelling. In our fourth edition of this series we are asking for you to tell us a personal story on "projections".

pro·jec·tion

/prəˈjekSH(ə)n/

-the presentation of an image on a surface.

-a mental image viewed as reality (reality vs. fantasy)

-a thing that extends outward from something else.

-an estimate or forecast of a future situation or trend based on a study of present ones.

Your story should be 7-9 minutes long and should tell a compelling, true personal narrative on projections. Your story doesn't need to be complete at this juncture, but should be fleshed out enough to give us a sense of the arc.

How do projections enter the liminal space? When do they heal and when do they harm? Where does perception meet reality and how do we navigate?

Throughout this process you will meet 2 on 1 with Danny and Delia to help prepare your story, attend a dress rehearsal dinner, and receive plenty of feedback throughout.

If selected, your story will be told in front of a live audience of 150-200 people.
