I never like the stale feeling
Of a poem that doesn't pick up the pace,
Leaves you wondering
What can be done, But
Maybe it's because
I can't find the poetry
In losing my love and
Regaining it
Only to lose it
again

If I could I would truly
Move the whole galaxy
Dismantle governments
Fast for a year
Starve my senses and
Trash my ambitions if
The fabric of the universe
Shifted to allow
Kept promises
It would be hard work
But even if it broke me
It would still be easier
Than wishing there was
A button for release
And wondering, why
Can't I hold one thing close
Forever
